26-year-old first-team star dropped hint over Arsenal future

Granit Xhaka states he has no intention to leave Arsenal this summer.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan, who are now managed by Antonio Conte.

Arsenal would accept a €40 million (£35.6m) offer for the Switzerland international, who joined the Gunners in a £35 million deal from Borussia Monchengladbach back in 2016, wants to stay with the north London giants and is even open to becoming a permanent captain.

‘Not that I know,’ Xhaka told Blick when asked if he was planning to leave Arsenal. ‘I have another four years on my contract, I only signed last year.

‘I’m happy there, my family too. That’s the most important.’ And when questioned if it would be fantastic if he were to be made Arsenal skipper, Granit Xhaka replied: ‘It would certainly be the dot on the ‘i’.’

Unai Emery may be calm over the future of the Switzerland international as one midfielder has already left Arsenal.

Aaron Ramsey agreed to join Juventus in the summer transfer window agreeing a £400,000-a-week contract with the Serie A champions and losing another key man in the middle of the park would be a huge loss for the Spanish manager.

Meanwhile the north London club are eyeing move for Sampdoria duo Dennis Praet and Joachim Andersen and the latest offer for the Serie A duo was rejected and Arsenal are quoted to lunch £49 million bid for the coveted pair.
