£72m-rated world-class forward wants EPL giants move but Chelsea hold advantage

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale is interested in a transfer to Manchester United but Los Blancos chiefs would rather sell the attacker to the Red Devils’ Premier League rivals Chelsea, the latest reports in Spain state.

The Wales international Bale has long been connected with a return to EPL and Gareth has his eye on a move to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

Both Manchester United and Chelsea are thought to have registered an interest in bringing the one-time Tottenham Hotspur player back to England this summer transfer window, but Real Madrid’s hierarchy would prefer to do business with the west Londoners, according to a Spanish daily sport newspaper Marca.

Real Madrid and Chelsea have a great working relationship and the potential deal could be influenced by Los Blancos’ pursuit of Eden Hazard.

Bale switched to the Santiago Bernabeu from the Premier League giants back in 2013 and has won the UCL on four occasions but time is running out for Los Blancos to recoup a large part of the £86m fee they paid to bring the star to La Liga.

The Spanish heavyweights believe they can cash in on the 29-year-old star, whose current contract expires in 2022, this summer for a hefty sum and are interested in trashing a deal with one of the English giants.

The club are hoping to sell Gareth for £131 million but it’s unknown if the two sides would be ready to fork out so much for the player who has been not impressive during the 2018/19 season.
