Chelsea have reportedly agreed to loan defender Ola Aina to Torino for the next campaign.
Aina has made two starts and four substitutes appearances for the Chelsea first team, but the full-back spent last season on loan at Hull City where he made 44 appearances in the Championship.
The 21-year-old had been expected to link up with another second-tier team before the end of August but according to Sky Sports News, the Nigeria international will instead play in Italy’s top flight.
The report claims that Aina is keen to play abroad, and Torino will have the option to sign the player on a permanent deal next summer.
Aina has two years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, Kepa Arrizabalaga was not Chelsea’s first choice to replace Thibaut Courtois, according to The Sunday Times.
The FA Cup holders moved swiftly to replace Thibaut Courtois after they agreed to sell the Belgium international to Real Madrid for £35million on the penultimate day of the transfer window.
However, the Times claims it could have been Atletico Madrid star Jan Oblak lining up at the Kirklees Stadium had he not turned down a move to Stamford Bridge.
Oblak, widely considered one of the best goalkeepers in world football, was reportedly the subject of a £90m bid which triggered the release clause in his current contract but the 25-year-old opted to remain in Spain and continue working under Diego Simeone.
