Arsenal 29-year-old French target rejects Gunners to complete £30m Serie A move

According to the latest transfer news, Arsenal have been dealt a massive blow as Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi has reportedly agreed personal terms to complete AS Roma move this summer.

The powerful Frenchman has asked to leave the La Liga giants and has not featured in any of their four competitive matches so far this term – including Sunday’s Spanish Super Cup defeat to Spain’s reigning champions Barcelona.

The Catalan club are among the side to have been linked with the 29-year-old N’Zonzi, while Arsenal were also credited with an interest before the end of the English transfer window, but The Mirror reports that he has now agreed personal terms with Roma.

However, the two parties are yet to come to an agreement over a transfer fee, with Sevilla reluctant to lose the World Cup winner midfielder and holding out for a £30m bid from the Serie A side.

N’Zonzi joined Sevilla from Stoke City back in 2015 and has gone on to make 136 appearances for the Spanish club across all competitions, helping them to the Europa League title in his first season.

The Gunners were also desperate to sign Max Meyer this summer, but the German midfielder decided to join their Premier League rivals Crystal Palace instead.
