Arsenal enter race for £35m-rated Germany international

Arsenal are ready to rival Liverpool in the hunt for Borussia Moenchengladbach star man Matthias Ginter, who is well known to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp from their days at Borussia Dortmund.

The Germany international has impressed since joining Gladbach back in 2017, and his form has prompted keen interest from the north London club as well, with Unai Emery considering a bid for him in the transfer window as he intends to bolster his options at the back.

The 25-year-old defender is valued at around £35 million by the Bundesliga club and has two more years left on his contract at Borussia Park, with the option of a further year from 2021 and if Arsenal can land the defender.

It will be a huge boost for the Gunners as they are set to miss out on Ajax rising star Matthijs De Ligt and if they are not able to reinforce the backline, they will have problems in the next season as all the defenders are above or nearing 30-year mark.

Meanwhile, it was reported that Arsenal scouts watched AC Milan star Suso, who has also been linked with a move to Anfield.

The Spaniard was part of the Liverpool team, but he failed to improve at the Merseyside and left for Italian giants.

The winger is understood to have a €35 million release clause inserted in his current contract, and the Spain international is understood to be considering a Premier League return, but the 26-year-old does not want to join his former club, Liverpool and would prioritise a move elsewhere.
