Arsenal have a strong interest in signing Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr in the coming transfer window.
Unai Emery seemed to confirm that the club will only be able to make loan additions to his squad in January.
“We cannot sign permanently,” he said. “We can only loan players. Only loan players.”
However, reports in France have claimed that the north London giants are already lining up potential summer targets.
Le10 Sport states that the Gunners have informed Ismaila Sarr that they are very keen on making a move for him in the summer.
Sarr has scored nine goals in all competitions this season, adding six assists, and Unai Emery’s side will monitor the Senegalese between now and the end of the season.
Inter Milan and Roma are also believed to be in the running for Ismaila Sarr, who joined Rennes from Metz back in 2017 for a £15.3 million fee.
“He is very fast with an excellent technique,” Thierno Seydi – the player’s agent – told SunSport after the World Cup.
“I have received many calls from English and German clubs and maybe even one from Italy. Many agents from the UK have called me proposing to work with them and Ismaila to get him to the Premier League. One Italian agent asked to speak with Juventus. The price will be around €50-60m (£44m-£53m).”
