Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Monaco midfielder according to his agent.
Aleksandr Golovin’s representative Sandor Varga has told Russian publication Nevasport that the London duo are interested in signing his client.
The playmaker joined Monaco from CSKA Moscow back in the summer of 2018, for a fee understood to be worth €30 million (£26 million), but he has struggled for the French side, racking up just three goals and three assists in 33 matches in all competitions.
The 22-year-old star’s entourage Sandor Varga has told Nevasport that his client is still hot property with the Premier League giants duo amongst a list of club’s currently closely monitoring his situation.
The Russia international is an attacking midfielder by trade, and he excels when deployed in the number 10 role, and despite his struggles with Monaco, the attacking midfielder would be a useful addition for either Spurs or the Gunners.
Mauricio Pochettino will need to add more depth to his attacking options this summer, especially if Christian Eriksen leaves for Real Madrid, and the Russian ace could be just the ticket.
Arsenal, meanwhile, need more quality in the final third, with Mesut Ozil failing to produce the goods on a consistent enough basis and former Germany international does not fit Emery’s playing style.
And whichever side wins the running for his services this summer could have a huge bearing on the balance of power in north London as the two clubs are also battling for European glory.
