Granit Xhaka has dropped a transfer bombshell by stating he is considering a shock move from Emirates.
The Switzerland international has been a divisive figure among the Gunners’ fans ever since his £35 million move from Borussia Monchengladbach back in the summer of 2016.
Granit Xhaka is enjoying his most consistent campaign in an Arsenal shirt under the management of Unai Emery who has entrusted the 26-year-old with the captain’s armband several times this season.
Despite thriving at the heart of the midfield, Granit Xhaka claims he remains ambitious and does not necessarily consider the north London club to be the last of his career.
‘I’m very ambitious, I want to take the next step, Arsenal does not have to be the last stop,’ he told Tagblatt.
The Siwssman signed a new long-term deal in the summer and has maintained his place in the team, despite the subsequent arrivals of Matteo Guunedouzi and Lucas Torreira.
The Premier League side remain in the hunt for Champions League qualification having moved to within a point of third-placed Tottenham following their 2-0 victory over bitter rivals Manchester United before the international break.
The north London giants have also reached the last eight of the Europa League where they will meet Napoli after erasing a 3-1 first leg deficit against French side Rennes and Unai Emery is desperate to end the debut season with a silverware.
Arsenal can easily enter the top four of the Premier League as the Gunners do not have as strong opponents as Chelsea Manchester United and Tottenham.
