According to the latest reports, Arsenal are still willing to secure the services of Boca Juniors Cristian Pavon.
It was suggested that the Gunners are keen on a move for Argentina star, who has also been linked with a move Barcelona but after the transfer of Malcom from Bordeaux, it is unlike that the Catalan giants will compete for the South American’s signature.
The 22-year-old winger enjoyed an impressive campaign last time out for his side, in which he netted six goals and amassed 11 assists in 26 league matches. The owner of the Argentine giants – Daniel Angelici – has admitted the attacker has a €50 million release clause.
“Pavon stays, signed for four more years. The clause is 50 million euros, which was what we wanted to be calm. We wanted to sell it when we understood that it was the necessary moment,” he stated.
Now, an exclusive from Football London reports that Raul Sanllehi – Arsenal’s new Head of Football who was working previously at Camp Nou – has “already staged talks with the club over a potential deal for the winger”.
The Gunners were known to be the long-term admirers of the Argentina international, and it remains to be seen if the can secure a deal.
