Inter Milan have been linked with Luka Modric during the summer transfer window but now, Football.London claims that Arsenal are on his tail and the Premier League club are confident that the player’s love of London could be a key factor in his decision making.

With the arrival of Zinedine Zidane, the 33-year-old star is expected to leave as the Frenchman is believed to make a big overhaul at Santiago Bernabeu with the first signing becoming Porto’s Eder Militao as Los Blancos activated €50 million release clause.

Gareth Bale is also widely tipped to be jettisoned, but Croatia international Luka Modric will also be asked to vacate his locker for Eden Hazard or Christian Eriksen.

Reigning Ballon d’Or holder made his name with Spurs, and Unai Emery thinks he still has two or three good years left in the tank and is a natural replacement for the departing Aaron Ramsey.

Gunners boss is set to shake up his defence this summer with Shkodran Mustafi and Nacho Monreal both likely to be shown the door at Emirates Stadium.

In their place, Spanish boss wants to land Ajax full-back Nicolas Tagliafico, who has earned rave reviews this season from Arsenal scouts.

Worryingly, however, Marca reports that Nicolas Tagliafico is “attracting interest from some top European clubs” with both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid keen to sign the 26-year-old defender.

Eredivisie giants are demanding a £17 million fee for the Argentine international, a modest sum for a player with such a burgeoning reputation.
