Arsenal could sell Granit Xhaka in the summer transfer window to raise funds for another move amid Inter Milan being interested.
Granit Xhaka has been at Emirates since 2016, making more than 100 appearances in that time. However, the Gunners could be set to part ways with the midfielder, as they look to pursue other targets.
Serie A could be a potential destination for the Swiss, and according to reports in Corriere Dello Sport, Inter have been keeping close an eye on Granit Xhaka. The Nerazzurri are ready to spend big to help them catch up with Juventus, and the midfield is one of the areas they may want to replenish.
Granit Xhaka is not Inter’s first-choice for the position but may be a more realistic option than their other targets, Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos and Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic.
Arsenal are prepared to sell the 26-year-old, given that their current transfer budget is only in the region of £50 million. However, any potential sale would leave them light in terms of midfield options, with Aaron Ramsey already on his way out.
Granit Xhaka recently hinted that he could be ready for a move, telling Tagblatt: “I’m very ambitious, I want to take the next step, Arsenal does not have to be the last stop.”
If the Switzerland international decides to leave it will be a huge blow for Arsenal, but Unai Emery thinks otherwise as the Spanish boss wants to sign the midfielders which suit his style of football.
