Arsenal told to secure services of €25m-rated Premier League full-back

Arsenal have been told to sign Leicester City versatile defender Ben Chilwell by one-time midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong.

The 22-year-old full-back has considered as one of the hottest talents in the EPL after winning his debut England caps last year.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are interested in procuring Chilwell’s signature but Frimpong would like to see his old team pounce.

“Arsenal should buy Chilwell,” Emmanuel tweeted during Leicester City’s 3-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.

Emirates Stadium officials could struggle to find the cash to lure the Foxes into selling Chilwell. The Milton Keynes-born player is under contract at the King Power Stadium until Juen of 2024.

Ben is a product of Leicester City’s prolific academy. Englishman made his professional debut back in 2015 before spending time on loan with then-Championship side Huddersfield Town.

Chilwell has gone on to make 79 matches in all competitions for the Premier League side.

Emmanuel could never tie down a regular spot in the Arsenal senior team, making just 16 matches in all competitions in four seasons with the Gunners.

His professional career in England never got off the ground, with loan stints at Wolves, Fulham, Charlton and  Barnsley proving fruitless too.

But Emmanuel still has a love for his first side as he made the suggestion in the Spurs versus the Foxes game on Sunday that the Gunners, in need of defensive reinforcements, should land Chilwell this summer.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery will have a limited summer transfer budget to sing players, having only been able to deal in loans in January market.
