Barcelona are ready to sell French defender Samuel Umtiti this summer if Manchester United follow up their initial interest with an official offer.
The 25-year-old star has struggled with a knee injury since helping his national team to storm the World Cup last summer, starting only nine games all season.
Samul Umtiti has featured twice since the end of November, but he got 90 minutes under his belt in Saturday’s 3-1 victory against Rayo Vallecano, suggesting that his fitness issues are behind him.
Italian publication Calciomercato reports that Barcelona are happy to cash in on the ex-Lyon star, however, and that could be good news for Manchester United having been linked in the past.
Barcelona are rumoured to be after Ajax youngster Matthijs de Ligt and will free up funds by getting rid of the France international, who they signed from Lyon in a £20 million deal two-and-a-half years ago.
The Blaugrana star will come at a handy price for the Red Devils as the Frenchman’s value will not be more than £50 million and considering his age Umtiti would be a perfect addition to Ole Gunnar Solkjaer’s team.
Manchester United have missed out on their long-term transfer target Eder Militao who agreed to join Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
Los Blancos activated the €50 million buyout clause in the Brazil international’s deal, and the defender agreed on a 6-year contract leaving the Red Devils with fewer options in the summer transfer window.
