Chelsea have been given a boost in their attempts to sign AC Milan star Suso.
It has been suggested that the Blues could be able to trigger the midfielder’s release clause and sign him at a discounted price.
Sport Witness claims the 24-year-old would be allowed to leave the club for a fee between €38 million and €40 million if a club comes in for him.
This is despite the player’s contract at San Siro running until 2022, with the release clause able to be activated in the upcoming January transfer window.
Chelsea and Real Madrid are the two sides understood to be monitoring the situation the closest, with the former Liverpool star thriving in Italy.
Talks took place at Stamford Bridge during the summer, with Maurizio Sarri willing to bring Suso to west London, but a move failed to materialise.
AC Milan have reportedly sat down with the player’s representative this week in a bid to potentially remove the clause, putting them in a stronger negotiating position.
Suso has netted 19 goals in 108 matches for the Rossoneri since joining from Liverpool back in 2015.
Suso is maturing into one of Serie A’s most influential players in his position, so it is not surprising to see him catching the eye of some of Europe’s top clubs.
