Chelsea have informed Callum Hudson-Odoi that he will not be allowed to leave the club in the summer.
Chelsea spurned Bayern Munich’s advances for their talented 18-year-old academy product in the winter window, despite the attacker handing in a transfer request and the Blues are now willing to risk losing millions on the player who will only have 12 months left on his deal when the transfer window opens.
According to the Times, the Premier League side have informed Callum Hudson-Odoi in no uncertain terms that he will be with the team next campaign.
Bayern Munich are likely to return for the English talent this summer having seen their previous £40 million offer rejected and Manchester United are also understood to be interested.
If Chelsea decide to refuse a sale and Callum Hudson-Odoi does not sign a new contract, the Stamford Bridge club could lose him for nothing in 2020.
In the past week, the teenager has made his England debut and given an impressive account of himself for Gareth Southgate’s team in their thumping wins over the Czech Republic and Montenegro.
Despite the international call-up, Maurizio Sarri has used Callum Hudson-Odoi sparingly, and the youngster is yet to start a single Premier League match this term and has largely had to make do with Europa League matches and playing time in other cup competitions.
Chelsea offered £80,000-per-week and a five-year contract, but negotiations with Callum Hudson-Odoi’s agents have been strained.
