Everton have made the first move to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Thomas Meunier, who has been linked with a switch to Chelsea this transfer window.
The Belgian defender looks to be set for an exit from the French capital, having seen his first-team opportunities limited under Thomas Tuchel this term.
Thomas Meunier appears to be in-demand ahead of next campaign, and the Merseyside club are believed by Euro United to have already submitted a contract offer to the Belgium international.
No official bid is understood to have been made by Everton, but they are seemingly pushing to tie up a deal for the full-back early on in the transfer window.
Chelsea are hardly in need of a new player in this position as Cesar Azpilicueta, and Davide Zappacosta are at Maurizio Sarri’s disposal, while Reece James has had a solid year on loan and even Victor Moses could return from Turkey.
However, as the running for Thomas Meunier’s services appears to heat up, it remains to be seen whether or not the Europa League finalists will push to rival the Toffees in their pursuit.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are also understood to be keen on luring the right-back, and the Red Devils could enter the race for the Paris Saint-Germain defender who has had a brilliant World Cup campaign last summer in Russia.
Meanwhile, Chelsea consider sacking Maurizio Sarri and appointing Frank Lampard after the Europa League final.
