According to The Sun, Fulham have emerged as the favourites to sign Liverpool’s out-of-favour defender Nathaniel Clyne with the Cottagers seeking a loan deal in January.
The report suggests the right-back favours a move back to the capital, while Leicester City and Cardiff City are also keen though the Reds are understood to be undecided over his first-team chances with the Foxes.
Fulham failed to solve their right-back problem last summer as regular first-teamer Ryan Fredericks left the London club to join rivals West Ham United on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract.
The England international came through the youth ranks at Crystal Palace before having a spell at Southampton before his £12.5 million switch to Liverpool back in 2015, with the player signing a five-year deal.
Despite originally consolidating himself in the Merseysiders first-team, the Englishman has since struggled for opportunities with the exciting Trent Alexander-Arnold now a mainstay in the club with Joe Gomez a reliable back-up at right-back despite naturally being a central defender.
The 27-year-old has featured just once all season, and he will be desperate for regular first-team action making a six-month loan move to Fulham a potential deal which could work out for all interested parties.
