Paris Saint-Germain are willing to reignite their interest in Chelsea superstar N’Golo Kante after learning that the midfielder’s relationship with Maurizio Sarri has soured.
The French champions turned to Leandro Paredes, who was also January transfer target for the Blues, from Zenit St Petersburg last month after previously missing out on N’Golo Kante.
Le 10 Sport states that the France international is still the man Ligue 1 giants want, though, and they plan to test the Blues’ resolve in the summer with an astonishing bid.
N’Golo Kante is understood not to be happy with being asked to play out of position, having been shifted to the right side of midfield under a new manager to give more space to the deep-lying playmaker Jorginho.
However, the 27-year-old defensive midfielder only signed a new five-year deal in November, and he is now tied down to Stamford Bridge until 2023, meaning that Paris Saint-Germain will likely have to spend big to tempt the Premier League giants into parting ways.
N’Golo Kante is earning £300,000 per week and is the FA Cup holders’ highest earner at the moment.
Chelsea are understood to have offered Eden Hazard similar terms but the Belgium international rejected the offer several times, and the Blues decided to leave the proposal on the table and wait for the 28-year-old superstar’s decision.
French World Cup winner has been a crucial player for Chelsea since arriving at Stamford Bridge and Everton ace Idrissa Gueye is understood to be Paris Saint-Germain’s back-up choice if they once again miss out on N’Golo Kante.
