Real Madrid weigh up whether to offer Gareth Bale in exchange for Paul Pogba.
Former Tottenham talisman has long been linked with a return to England, while Paul Pogba admitted this week it was his ‘dream’ to play for Los Blancos.
‘Like I have always said, Real Madrid is a dream for anyone. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world,’ the World Cup winner said while on international duty.
‘There is also [Zinedine] Zidane as a coach, and it’s a dream for anybody who likes football. ‘For now, I’m at Manchester. We don’t know what the future holds. I’m at Manchester, and I’m happy.’
AS claims Real Madrid are interested in bringing the Frenchman to Madrid as Zinedine Zidane has always been a big fan of the midfielder.
But the relationship between Florentino Perez and Mino Raiola is notoriously strained. Real Madrid feel it would be challenging to lure the playmaker to the Spanish capital when the 26-year-old seems to have finally turned a corner at Old Trafford.
Paul Pogba has thrived under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and the Red Devils would need to be convinced to sell the key player suddenly.
But Manchester United have always held an interest in the Wales international and have tried and failed in several enquiries for the winger since he joined Real Madrid back in 2013. David Moyes claims Manchester United were on the verge of signing Bale before the forward decided to join Spanish giants from Tottenham.
