Everton consider move for £30m-rated French midfielder

Everton are believed to be keen on snapping up Lyon midfielder Lucas Tousart next transfer window, as Marco Silva searches for additions.

According to French publication Le Quotidian Du Foot, the Premier League club have contacted the entourages of Lucas Tousart.

Marco silva’s side appear to be looking to sign another midfielder, even after the arrival of Fabian Delph, with Idrissa Gueye leaving for PSG, Everton are now said to be keen on the 22-year-old, who has impressed at Lyon.

The midfielder fits the mould of the sort of player that the Toffees usually sign, as he has potential and for his age, he is very experienced, after playing 125 times for the French club in Ligue 1.

Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato has previously claimed that Lucas Tousart would cost around £30 million to buy from Lyon.

That could be a smart purchase for the English club, if the midfielder, who is a technically adept and also possesses some credible defensive qualities, does go on and fulfil his potential at Goodison Park.

Everton have made great signings this summer, with Andre Gomes, Fabian Delph, Moise Kean, Alex Iwobi and Jonas Lossl arriving, but Marco Silva appears to be keen on further bolstering his midfielder, and wanted  to sign Lyon man after Idrissa Gueye left for the French capital.

Meanwhile, Everton secured the signing of Moise Kean, a new number nine as the Toffees have struggled to score goals with the absence of centre-forward in mould of Romelu Lukaku.
