Everton enter the race to sign No.11 South American forward

Toffees are preparing a £30m bid for Everton Cebolinha. Negotiations have also reportedly been held with Brazil international’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, in London.

Man City have been linked, but Everton may now be leading the race for his signature if they’re lodging an official bid. Everton has spent six years at Gremio, making a total of 176 appearances in all tournaments since joining from Fortaleza in 2013.

Cebolinha has been in impressive form this campaign, scoring and creating 22 goals in 41 matches, so he’d be a good signing to the Toffees ranks. Brazilian footballers have been thriving on Merseyside of late too with Bernard and Richarlison impressing, so the 23-year-old transfer-target may be open to a move to Goodison Park.

That being said, Marco Silva isn’t short on options in Everton’s position, Bernard, Richarlison, Theo Walcott, Alex Iwobi, so an existing player may need to leave to make room for a new face.

Toffees are struggling for goals this campaign, netting only 14 in as many Premier League games, so the winter transfer window might be essential to bringing in attacking quality. Everton added several players in the summer transfer window like Moise Kean from Juventus, Djibril Sidibe from Monaco and Yerry Mina from Barcelona.
