Everton join race to sign 22-year-old South American centre-back

Toffees have offered Lille centre-back, Gabriel Magalhaes, a five-year deal ahead of a possible summer move for the defender. Schira adds that U23 Brazil international’s representatives are in negotiations with Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Gunners were also interested in Gabriel, with Arsenal previously exploring a January move for the defender. Toffees are now in ‘senior talks’ with Lille over a £30m deal for Magalhaes. The 22-year-old has been very impressive for Lille this campaign, Gabriel has played 34 games across all tournaments for the French club this term.

Gabriel Magalhaes certainly seems like a defender with plenty of potentials, it’s not surprising to see that the ace is on the verge of a move to the Premier League. Magalhaes has vast potential and can become a top-class centre-back if he continuous improvement.

Everton have terrible consequences in the PL this campaign as they are in a 12th place in the table. The Merseyside club signed several footballers during the summer transfer window like Alex Iwobi from Arsenal, Moise Kean from Juventus, Andre Gomes from Barcelona, Fabian Delph from Man City and Djibril Sidibe from Monaco.
