Hugo Lloris says that Kyle Walker-Peters has impressed him in training and the Frenchman added that Tottenham Hotspur youngster has a crucial season ahead of him.
Hugo Lloris spoke to the London Evening Standard about his team’s start to the 2019/20 Premier League season, and offered high words of praise for his teammate, sharing how impressed he has been by the 22-year-old during training.
The young ace has started both games for the Champions League runners-up so far this term, and he seems to be ahead of Serge Aurier in the right-back pecking order.
With Kieran Trippier having been moved on earlier this transfer window, this campaign represents a superb chance for Kyle Walker-Peters to establish himself as Mauricio Pochettino’s first-choice right-back.
And Hugo Lloris provided an insight into how exciting the Spurs youngster has been in training over the past few years:
“Kyle is not a novice: for a few years now, he’s been working every day with us. He knows exactly the principles and the demands of the gaffer, and now he just needs experience. He has showed his quality in the last few seasons in training. We all know the difficulty of repeating that in games, but we’ve all seen his potential. Now the most difficult for him is ahead.”
Kyle Walker-Peters must start showing that he is prepared to compete with the very best consistently if he is to convince the manager that he is good enough to be Spurs’ regular right-back.
