Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted he made a failed bid to sign Dortmund wonderkid Jadon Sancho when he was playing for Manchester City.
The youngster has lit up the German top-flight since making the shock decision to leave the Premier League club for Bundesliga back in 2017 after growing impatient for an opportunity under Pep Guardiola.
Jadon Sancho was back in his hometown of London on Wednesday when his side took on Tottenham in the Champions League, and the Spurs smashed 3-0 the visitors and Arsene Wenger had admitted that he tried to sign the Englishman when it became apparent that he wanted to leave Manchester City.
“I say that freely because I wanted to take him from City when he didn’t get the games. I tried to lure him – because he’s from London – I tried to get him to Arsenal.” – revealed the French boss.
Now Jadon Sancho is rated at £90 million, and Borussia Dortmund is willing to reject any offer regarding the sale of the English youngster, who is set feature in the senior side of England when he grows up.
The teenager has already three caps for Gareth Southgate’s side and is developing his game time by time in Germany, and the player has stated multiple times that he wants to stay at BVB until he finds it suitable to return to the homeland or continue his career somewhere else.
Manchester United are understood to be willing to sign the Englishman with the Red Devils ready to meet the Bundesliga leaders’ asking price.
