Jurgen Klopp identified new alternative to Nabil Kekir

According to Don Balon, Juan Quintero could finally arrive in the Premier League with Liverpool and Arsenal keen on signing the River Plate talisman.

Merseyside giants have a long-standing interest in the Colombian World Cup star Juan Fernando Quintero and could swoop for the attacker in the summer.

The 26-year-old is currently plying his trade at River Plate after failing to establish himself at European giants Porto, who recently managed to beat AS Roma in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and it is fair to claim that the South American is playing the best football of his career in Argentina.

Juan Quintero was arguably the star of the show as the Argentinian giants beat bitter rivals Boca Juniors to win the Copa Libertadores title, putting the icing on an excellent calendar year which saw the creative playmaker shine for his country at the World Cup.

According to the Spanish publication, the Colombia international is now willing to strike while the iron is hot and seal a return to Europe to prove himself on a bigger stage.

It is reported that he has a £26 million release clause in his deal, with Liverpool willing to trigger it and a move to Anfield could see Jurgen Klopp’s team finally add a spark of creativity that has been missing since Philippe Coutinho’s left Barcelona.

The Reds’ Merseyside rivals Everton are also interested with head coach Marco Silva promising the attacking midfielder that he would be handed regular game-time at the Goodison Park.
