Leeds United have reportedly identified Man City forward Ian Poveda as a potential winter signing. Having made only one first-team appearance for Cityzens since leaving Brentford’s academy earlier in his career, U20 England international has been permitted to leave the Etihad Stadium.
Torino appear to be the favourites to sign Ian after he attended their most recent Serie A fixture, while Celtic and Parma have also been credited with an interest in the forward. However, according to the Daily Mail, Peacocks have made contact with Man City as they attempt to negotiate a deal with the Premier League giants.
The two clubs hold a strong working relationship with Pep Guardiola having been willing to loan prospects to Marcelo Bielsa’s side in the past. With Ian having less than six months remaining on his deal, City may prefer to do business with Leeds rather than watch the prospect potentially agree on a pre-contract deal with a foreign club.
Leeds United have fantastic consequences in the Championship this campaign as they are in a second place in the table. Peacocks signed several footballers during the summer transfer window like Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal, Ben White from Brighton and Helder Costa from Wolverhampton.
