Liverpool enter race for €70m-rated Chelsea target

Liverpool are reportedly ready to battle Manchester United and Chelsea in the race to sign Italian ace Federico Chiesa.

According to reports from the midfielder’s homeland, the Reds are being linked with a move for the Fiorentina starlet, who is once again being tipped to depart his club for big money in the near future.

Recent reports suggested that Chelsea were in ‘pole position’ to sign the midfielder, but local rivals Juventus and Napoli have also been in the running.

The Turin giants were said to have had a bid turned down for the player over the summer transfer window, but it is yet to be seen if they will go back in for the 20-year-old during the January window or next summer.

Federico Chiesa is not the only Italian the Reds have their sights set on as Cagliari star Nicolo Barella has emerged as a transfer target and is rated at around £35 million.

Both Milan clubs and Premier League rivals Tottenham are understood to be interested in Nicolo Barella.

But it remains to be seen if Jurgen Klopp will go for another midfielder as his side is well stocked in the centre part of the pitch.
