Liverpool goalkeeper to switch sides in summer

According to Hurriyet, Loris Karius could be set for a move to Olympiakos at the end of the campaign.

The Liverpool shot-stopper is currently on a two-year loan deal at Besiktas, but things have not gone according to the plan and the German star was even booed at the latest games.

The 25-year-old keeper has been the subject of jeering from his fans, and he is also taking legal action against the Turkish giants for not paying his wages for four months.

A return to Anfield looks highly unlikely, following last season’s Champions League final horror, but Greek side Olympiakos are willing to end his Besiktas nightmare.

They are understood to want an upgrade between the sticks, with their current options not seen as good enough.

A Sport Witness report suggests that “President Evangelos Marinakis will hope to use his relationship with Besiktas chief Firket Orman to help get a deal done”.

After Liverpool signed Allison Becker in £65 million deal and made the Brazil international the most expensive goalkeeper for only one week, Chelsea then landed Kepa for £71 million.

Loris Karius was sent to Besiktas as everyone understood that the German was not welcome at the club and this move has sacrificed Simon Mignolet who also wanted to leave Anfield but because of Karius’ departure he was forced to stay as Alisson required a backup.

It will be interesting to see if Simon Mignolet will stay at the Merseyside club as the Belgian’s contract will expire at the of the season
