Liverpool requested £39m striker in exchange for Sadio Mane

According to reports in Spain, Jurgen Klopp demanded Vinicius Junior in return for Sadio Mane when Real Madrid inquired about signing the Liverpool forward.

Sadio Mane is on the Spanish giants’ radar ahead of the summer transfer window as Zinedine Zidane looks to strengthen his attacking options. But according to El Chiringuito, Real Madrid also approached for the Senegal international previous summer.

The report adds that Los Blancos went to Liverpool to discuss an asking price for the Senegalese But the Reds responded by demanding that Real Madrid pay €200 million (£173m) and include Vinicius Junior in the deal.

The La Liga giants signed Vinicius in a £38.7 million deal from Flamengo last summer, and the teenager has impressed this campaign with three goals and 12 assists before he suffered an ankle ligament injury in March.

The European champions rejected Liverpool’s proposal, but El Chiringuito claims that the 18-year-old remains an ‘obsession’ of Jurgen Klopp.

Sadio Mane, meanwhile, signed a new long-term deal with the Merseysiders last November which keeps at the club until 2023 and the striker also added that he wants to leave a remarkable in the Premier League and Liverpool history and hinted that is not planning on leaving Anfield club in the near future.

Sadio Mane has been a crucial player for Liverpool when Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah were struggling to score goals, the Senegal international stood up and provided his side with the much-needed goals, and now it seems that duo mentioned above have also found their form lately.
