Liverpool could be set to battle it out with Manchester City for Ben Chilwell’s signature.
According to Calcio Mercato, the Reds have joined title rivals in the running to sign the left-back, who has risen through the ranks at King Power Stadium, and he has gone on to make 83 senior appearances in all competitions for Leicester City.
The Foxes’ ace has really impressed for the club, but unfortunately for the East Midlands side, his fine performances have not gone unnoticed.
The Telegraph reported earlier this month that Pep Guardiola is a big fan of the 22-year-old, but it has been claimed that he will cost more than £75 million and the Merseysiders could challenge their direct rivals for the left-back’s services, according to the Italian news outlet.
Liverpool already have Andrew Robertson, so whether they need the Leicester ace is debatable but Alberto Moreno could be leaving the club in the summer, however, so it would be no surprise to see Jurgen Klopp attempt to strengthen his left-back department to provide more competition for the Scotland international.
£75 million might prove to be a bit too steep for Liverpool as the Reds splashed that amount of money Virgil Va Dijk and it unlike that Jurgen Klopp will also break the bank for the England international.
It must also be admitted that Leicester City have the policy of valuing their star players at a huge price as the Foxes told Manchester United in the summer that they could sign Harry Maguire only for £70 million, not less.
