Liverpool tabled five-year deal to 25-year-old French midfielder

Liverpool have offered Lyon’s Nabil Fekir a lucrative five-year contract after renewing their interest in the attacking midfielder.

According to La Gazzetta dello, the Premier League giants have offered the 25-year-old star a five-year deal worth £3.5 million a year.

Recent reports claimed Jurgen Klopp has revived his interest in Nabil Fekir and Liverpool contacted the Ligue 1 giants over a possible deal for the France international.

However, it is understood that the Reds are unwilling to match Lyon’s £44.5 million valuation for Nabil Fekir, considering he has just 12 months remaining on his current contract, so a deal could once again prove to be complex.

Nabil Fekir enjoyed a productive campaign in Ligue 1, netting 12 times and providing nine assists in all competitions under Bruno Genesio.

The dynamic attacker looks set to be on the move finally, and Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to officially announce Nabil Fekir this summer after coming so close 12 months ago.

The English giants decided not to complete the move last summer transfer window with concerns over his fitness, and finally, the Reds opted not to trust the Frenchman’ health but the World Cup winners had a prolific season without injuring himself.

Now it remains to be seen if Liverpool will match the price Ligue 1 club are demanding for the playmaker as the European champions do need a creative midfielder up front as the Reds struggled to score goals in the Premier League in a short time of period.

The reason is the lack of creativity which cost Jurgen Klopp’s team the title.
