London rivals preparing bid for 19-year-old Chelsea defender

Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Crystal Palace and Brighton, and Hove Albion both want to sign defender Reece James.

And according to the Sun, The Eagles are willing to pay £10 million to sign the promising talent Reece James this summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old defender has established himself as one of English football’s most exciting right-back’s this term, starring on loan at Wigan Athletic and earning rave reviews in the second tier.

As a result, the Blues face a challenge holding onto Reece James over the coming months. It is reported that Crystal Palace are keen on signing the teenager but face competition from bitter rivals Brighton and Hove Albion, who won 2-1 at Selhurst Park at the weekend.

The Sun claims that Roy Hodgson’s side are considering a £10 million bid for the England U20 international, who could potentially have been identified as a replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The homegrown rising star has caught the eye of some of the biggest clubs both in England and abroad with Manchester United and Arsenal being desperate to land the Englishman in the summer transfer window for the transfer fee of £40 million.

The report adds that Chelsea do not want to lose one of their brightest talents and are planning to send Reece James on loan to one of Europe’s top sides to help him hone his trade.

But, like fellow youngsters Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham who have starred recent time, it seems his future is up in the air.
