Man City in the battle to sign 21-year-old French centre-back

Man City have reportedly joined the battle to sign Dayot Upamecano. U21 France international has established himself as one of the finest centre-backs in the Bundesliga thanks to his performances for RB Leipzig. This campaign, Dayot has featured in 24 games for Die Roten Bullen, providing an assist with Union Berlin.

Man City have joined the battle to sign Upamecano who has a release clause of £50m. This report also suggests that Arsenal, Tottenham, Barcelona and Real Madrid are interested in him as well. The 21-year-old defender will be Pep Guardiola’s priority in the summer.

The French centre-back has been in fine form for Leipzig this campaign so far, and he’ll be needed to be at his best if Julian Nagelsmann’s side are to win the Bundesliga. Pep Guardiola wants to strengthen the back-line during the summer transfer window, and his primary target is Dayot Upamecano.

Man City have been a bit shaky at the defence in the absence of Aymeric Laporte, and Guardiola will want to sign another defender. Dayot Upamecano would be a suitable addition to the Citizens’ squad and could help them challenge for next campaign’s Premier League.
