Man City are “evaluating” Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez as a potential option to eventually replace Aguero. Citizens centre-forward has been an incredible servant for the Etihad side since joining from Spanish side Atletico Madrid and has already racked up a mammoth 239 goals in just 347 games across all tournaments for Man City.
Aguero has started off the current season on fire too, notching eight Premier League goals in as many matches for the Citizens. With the Argentine striker turning 32 next summer, Man City are “evaluating” Nerazzurri’s Lautaro as a potential successor to their superstar centre-forward.
The report adds trying to lure the Serie A giants man away from Italy will be difficult, due to a hefty release clause in his contract. Make no mistake about it, while Sergio appears to be defying his age with consistently supreme displays Man City will eventually have to commit to turning away from their Argentinian striker.
Replacing the sheer volume of goals will undoubtedly be difficult, but Martinez has proven in his fledgeling career that he has other facets to his game too. The argentine starlet has registered two goals and an assist in the early stages of Serie A this campaign, but his underlying numbers give cause for optimism for the Spanish manager.
