Man City have been credited with an interest in Rangers defender Leon King. Liverpool and Chelsea are keeping close tabs on the 15-year-old while German Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig are also among the potential suitors for his signature in the upcoming transfer windows.
Leon, who made his debut for Gers’ development side at the tender age of just 14, has already played for Graeme Murty’s U20 team and was recently named on the bench for the UEFA Youth League clash with Slovan Bratislava. Leon is yet to make his senior professional bow for the Gers, but his talent and potential haven’t gone unnoticed.
However, as per the report, Rangers fear that they could lose the defender prospect after the teenager declined a new contract to extend his stay. With Gers struggling to tie him down to professional terms due to his tender years, the 15-year-old could well be the next Scottish starlet to further his development elsewhere.
The Ibrox giants lost midfielder Billy Gilmour to Chelsea back in 2017 after he refused to put pen to paper on a new contract while Liam Morrison rejected a long-term deal with Celtic to sign for Bayern Munich this summer.
