Manchester United are on the verge of completing a deal for Villarreal youngster Adrian Corral.
Villarreal are believed to be keen on retaining the signature of the centre-back, but the player has told the Spanish side that he will not sign professional terms.
Both Liverpool and Manchester United have been credited with an interest in Adrian Corral, and Spanish publication Super Deporte claims that the Red Devils have now won the race for his services.
The 16-year-old is set to join up with the club’s academy, which is currently run by former midfielder Nicky Butt.
The Red Devils will only have to pay a compensation fee for the teenager, who can play as either a centre-back or a left-back and has spent the past four seasons with Villarreal.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are planning to restore the backline and are linked with likes of Eder Militao, who is understood to be available in the region of £68 million despite having a £45 million release clause.
Another target appears to be Fiorentina’s centre-back Nikola Milenkovic who is valued at around £40 million but the Italian side are firm to block any advances from Manchester United.
