Manchester United hope to sign Wissam Ben Yedder, whose double for Sevilla knocked them out of the Champions League last campaign.
The Sun claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is understood to lining up an offer for the La Liga striker, who has netted an impressive 24 goals in just 37 games already in 2018-19.
The Norwegian boss recently pledged to add to his attacking ranks this summer transfer window – if given the permanent job on a full-time basis – while not looking for any defensive upgrades, despite strong links to Toby Alderweireld.
And the French frontman is the latest target for the Red Devils, according to reports in Spain, with Alexis Sanchez severely struggling to make an impact at Old Trafford and is understood to leave the Premier League when the right chance occurs.
Ben Yedder has been in scintillating form for the Spanish giants, who were knocked out of the Europa League yesterday, scoring eight goals in as many games – including a brilliant hat-trick last weekend as his side thumped Real Sociedad – and is being viewed as a direct rival to Romelu Lukaku rather than a replacement for the in-form Belgium international.
The striker has also been linked with rivals Tottenham and Arsenal in the past, but it would appear that there is a strong chance he will be bound for Old Trafford come the summer.
The 28-year-old joined Sevilla from Toulouse back in the summer of 2016, and the Frenchman has scored 66 times in 126 appearances for the Andalusian side in all competitions.
