Manchester United are considering a move for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, who left Celtic to join Ligue 1 club last summer and has netted 19 goals in his debut season with the French side.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are searching for a new striker with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is willing to bolster his attacking options for next season, and according to the Daily Mirror, Moussa Dembele is on the Red Devils’ radar ahead of the summer transfer window.
But the report also adds that Arsenal are in the race to sign the striker as Unai Emery is a ‘long-term admirer’ of the Frenchman.
Lyon spent £19.7 million on signing the 22-year-old last summer, and they are in a strong negotiating position as the forward is under contract until 2023.
Moussa Dembele could also be viewed as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku, whose representative revealed earlier this month that the striker is open to leaving Manchester United at the end of the campaign.
Moussa Dembele’s potential arrival at the Theatre of Dreams would also ease the burden on Marcus Rashford, who has netted three goals in his last ten matches.
Meanwhile, it was reported that Barcelona are preparing £100 million to sign the Englishman in the summer transfer window after the striker has failed to agree a new contract with the Red Devils.
Despite Arsenal being mentioned in the list of possible destination for the striker, it is unlikely the Gunners will make move for him as they already have the world-class duo of strikers.
