Man United poised to submit £26m bid for Denmark international

Manchester United are ready to bid for Danish star Joachim Andersen after Jose Mourinho was convinced by his fitness coach to sign the central defender.

Stefano Rapetti joined Mourinho at Old Trafford in the summer as the club’s new fitness coach and has first-hand knowledge of Joachim Andersen’s ability. The Italian worked at Sampdoria with the 22-year-old before arriving at Manchester United, and personally recommended the youngster to Mourinho.

Sampdoria are willing to sell the central defender but will be hoping for a bidding war with Juventus, Tottenham and Inter Milan credited with an interest.

The Red Devils sent four scouts to watch Joachim Andersen in action against Torino previous weekend and were not stopped despite Sampdoria being thrashed 4-1. La Repubblica claims Jose Mourinho has already decided to bid for the Denmark international and an offer could soon arrive.

Sampdoria are ready to block any moves for Joachim Andersen in the winter window, as the club do not want to disrupt their squad mid-way through the campaign.

But the Italian club value Andersen at £26 million and will listen to offers in the summer as Jose Mourinho is begging for defensive reinforcements with Manchester United struggling defensively this season.
