Arsenal star Granit Xhaka has been linked with a move away from the London club, with Magpies rumoured to be interested. Switzerland international has fallen heavily out of favour with the Gunners fans, especially after his furious outburst towards them while being substituted against Crystal Palace a few weeks ago.
Granit has since been stripped of the captaincy and could be sold by the club in the next transfer window in winter. ”Granit Xhaka? Look, I was only in the job for two weeks, and I was linked with 42 players. So I am not going to comment on anybody else’s players. He is an excellent player” Steve Bruce said.
It looks as if there’s no way back for the 27-year-old midfielder now. The fans had already turned on him, and his outburst at the London club has almost put the nail in the coffin. He’s a very talented footballer and provided a vivid apology for his actions, but many feel he isn’t good enough to wear the Arsenal shirt.
Manager Unai Emery now prefers Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira, so letting Xhaka leave could be the best thing for all parties.
