Lucas Vazquez reportedly looks ready to leave Real Madrid and Magpies are a possible place for the attacker. Spain has found his chances more sparse this campaign with only four league starts, as French manager is seemingly not keen on him when he has the likes of Eden Hazard, Gareth Bale and Vinicius Junior at his disposal.
As a result, it is believed that Real Madrid president is keen on finding a suitable club in the winter transfer window, with the Premier League a possible place where Lucas could end up. West Ham United and Wolves have also shown an interest, but with no asking price given the best place to gauge what his transfer fee might be is £22.5m.
Vazquez would, therefore, be Newcastle United’s second-most expensive signing ever if he cost that amount, and considering they have strengthened out wide recently it would seem a strange decision. The 28-year-old winger helped the La Liga giants to win the Champions League three times.
Newcastle United are currently in possession of two quick and skilful wingers, and should instead direct their money to other areas of the squad which need improvement, such as bringing in another striker.
