Marco Silva is believed to be keen on signing the Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa, who according to the Scottish Sun, wants to join Everton, amid rumours he could move to the Merseyside club.
The Toffees have been linked with the La Liga front-man, who is well known in the Premier League after his successful time with London giants Chelsea.
The Merseysiders are said to be keen on Diego Costa, despite him not being their typical target and the striker, who cost Atletico Madrid £40 million two years ago, would be open to move to Everton, even though Marco Silva’s club do not have European football on offer.
Whether they will now make a bid for the Spain international remains to be seen, but there is understood to be a willingness on the frontman’s behalf to sign up.
Marco Silva has previously claimed that Everton would make exceptions to their policy which sees them target younger players if the right occasion arises.
Diego Costa may well be the player for Everton to make an exception for as the club are in desperate need of a goalscorer.
The Toffees lacked a number nine last campaign, even if Dominic Calvert-Lewin did a credible job up top.
If the former Chelsea striker did join Everton, he would surely increase their scoring threat, and that could be crucial for the season ahead with Marco Silva already having prolific winger and a great playmaker.
