Rangers keep a close eye on 28-year-old Championship shot-stopper

Scottish club are reportedly taking a look at shot-stopper Declan Rudd at the moment as Rangers are keen on the goalkeeper from Preston. Gers are in cup action this weekend as we take on Hearts in the semi-final of the Betfred Cup and all focus will be on getting a win there and then getting ourselves to the final with Celtic or Hibernian.

However, with the title race also on our minds, it is safe to assume that in winter we will be looking to add to our side where possible. According to the report, then, the Light Blues are looking at Preston goalkeeper Rudd, though they do have a fair few footballers on their books already that can play in goal.

Allan McGregor is one, of course, while we’ve also got Wes Foderingham and Andy Firth, so it stays to be seen whether or not this is a serious move. Rangers started this season excellently as they are in a second place in the Scottish Premiership table.

Gers signed several footballers during the summer transfer window like Ryan Kent from Liverpool, Filip Helander from Bologna and Joe Aribo from Charlton.
