Real Madrid have reportedly joined local rivals Barcelona in pursuit of Chelsea star David Luiz.
According to reports from Spain Real Madrid are also interested in signing the Brazil international, who has impressed under Maurizio Sarri this term.
David Luiz has been linked with Barcelona in recent weeks, with the Spanish champions needing to bolster at the back in January as Samuel Umtiti is injured and requires an operation.
The 30-year-old’s form has alerted Nou Camp outfit, but the Blues will be reluctant to lose the player in the new year.
David Luiz has been rejuvenated under new manager Maurizio Sarri this season after spending most of the last season on the sidelines under Antonio Conte.
He has formed a solid partnership alongside Germany international Antonio Rudiger, with the Blues looking nervous at the back when either of the two are not included in the starting line-up.
Maurizio Sarri himself is keen to put his stamp on the defensive, and Chelsea may need to sign a replacement before they would consider selling the experienced centre-back.
Daniele Rugani and Alessandro Romagnoli were all linked with move to Stamford Bridge.
