Man City and Real Madrid are both reportedly showing interest in Real Sociedad attacker Mikel Oyarzabal ahead of a potential transfer scrap next year.
Spain international is in fine form this campaign as he’s bagged four goals and four assists in 13 La Liga games for Sociedad, thus perhaps explaining why he might be gaining interest from elsewhere.
It has now been suggested that both Cityzens and Los Blancos are following Mikel’s progress, although it could cost clubs a heavy fee as it’s suggested that he could be valued at nearly €50m.
Nevertheless, it appears as though Mikel could emerge as an option for either side to strengthen their options in that area and at 22 years of age, Mikel would certainly represent a good solution too.
The touted €50m price tag is undoubtedly a lot of money, and so perhaps they’ll both continue to monitor Oyarzabal for the rest of the campaign to see if Mikel can maintain his high standards before making a possible move.
It’s worth noting though that Mikel now has 42 goals and 27 assists in 164 games for Sociedad in total, and so Spain international does look to have a bright future ahead of him having showcased his talent already.
