Real Madrid offered services of £100m-rated star to Liverpool

Real Madrid are considering offering Raphael Varane to Liverpool as part of the deal to take Sadio Mane in the opposite direction.

Raphael Varane is believed to be weighing up his future in at Santiago Bernabeu and could push for an exit at the end of the season.

The France international is understood to favour a move to Manchester United, who are known to be in the market for a new centre-back and have been heavily linked with the World Cup winner in the past.

However, The Guardian reports that Real Madrid might instead offer the defender to Liverpool in an attempt to aid negotiations for Sadio Mane.

The Champions League winners have rekindled their interest in the Senegalese attacker following the return of Zinedine Zidane as the head coach, viewing the Reds’ attacker as a more affordable option than Chelsea’s Eden Hazard or Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen.

Raphael Varane joined Real Madrid back in 2011 under the tenure of Jose Mourinho, going on to make more than 250 appearances for the club across all competitions.

Los Blancos have purchased the services of Eder Militao for €50 million and are this appears to be the reason for the club to offload the French star, but it is strange to see Zinedine Zidane parting ways with the compatriot who was the backbone of the club’s when they won three consecutive Champions League titles.

Meanwhile Liverpool £150,000-a-week forward Sadio Mane is in superb form and the Reds cannot afford losing the Senegal international in the summer transfer window.
