Roma preparing shock move for Liverpool goalkeeper

Roma are understood to be preparing a permanent offer for Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius.

Manager Paulo Fonseca has identified Loris Karius as a replacement for Robin Olsen, with AS Roma now readying an offer for the German star during the current window.

Jurgen Klopp brought in current first-choice keeper Alisson Becker from the Rome club last summer transfer window, so the Reds may be willing to repay the favour to the Serie A giants this summer.

The German is currently in the middle of a two-year loan spell with Turkish side Beskitas so that a possible deal could prove complex.

The 25-year-old, who originally joined Liverpool from Mainz in 2016, enjoyed a productive year in Turkey following his frustrating campaign with the Reds the year before after making horrible mistakes in the Champions League final.

No fee has yet been discussed, however, the Merseyside club would more than likely be looking to receive a minimal fee of £5 million, the sum the Reds paid the German club three years ago.

Meanwhile, Guillermo Ochoa looks set to leave Standard Liege this transfer window and could be keen on a move to Anfield.

The 33-year-old Mexcian has plenty of international and European experience and could be a great cover for the Brazil international if Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet both leave.

A move for former Manchester City number one Joe Hart could prove to be a smart piece of business.

The 32-year-old star is out of favour behind Nick Pope and Tom Heaton and Burnley and would be open to selling him.
