Spurs will reportedly not make a move for Man United midfielder Nemanja Matic over the winter transfer window. The 31-year-old midfielder, whose deal expires next summer, is open to the prospect of a winter move after falling down the pecking order under the Norwegian manager.
It had been suggested that following the arrival of Jose Mourinho, who signed Nemanja at Chelsea and United, the North London club would also make a move for the footballer. However, there are no plans at Tottenham to make a move for Matic.
The current Spurs midfielder quintet of Harry Winks, Eric Dier, Moussa Sissoko, Tanguy Ndombele and Victor Wanyama forms a strong foundation for Mourinho. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently laughed off the prospect of Serbia international completing a move to London club over the winter window.
It has been claimed that Eriksen is on the radar of both Real Madrid and Juventus ahead of next month, while Man United are also said to be interested. Tottenham will now look to dispense with Christian Eriksen for less than £40m in January to avoid losing the player for nothing next summer.
