Tottenham enter the battle to sign €30m-rated La Liga midfielder

during the Group H match of the UEFA Champions League between Manchester United and Valencia at Old Trafford on October 2, 2018 in Manchester, United Kingdom.

Spurs could reportedly prepare an offer of nearly €40m to try to beat Arsenal to the transfer of Valencia midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia. Central African Republic international has shone in La Liga and could be the perfect signing for most Premier League clubs soon, and it may be that his next destination will be Tottenham.

Geoffrey as a top target for Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho, but also note that Gunners are admirers of his as well. Kondogbia has moved around a lot in his career, having also already had spells at Lens, Sevilla, Monaco and Inter Milan before joining his current employers.

Spurs could do well to strengthen their midfield options as they look in need of a general revamp in this post-Mauricio Pochettino era. Gunners would surely also see the 27-year-old midfielder as the main upgrade on their rather below-par midfield options such as Granit Xhaka, Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira.

Tottenham have godd consequences in the Premier League this campaign as they are in an 8th place in the table. Spurs signed several footballers during the winter transfer window like Steven Bergwijn from PSV, Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis and Gedson Fernandes from Benfica.
