Tottenham and Liverpool are both interested in signing Lyon forward Memphis Depay. Netherlands international flopped during his time at Man United, but he has found a new lease of life at Ligue 1 giants. He has matured into a key figure for the French club, as well as the Netherlands, and Merseyside club have been linked with him before.
This latest report claims that Liverpool and Spurs are both eyeing up a move for Memphis, with the Premier League pair believed to be admirers of the attacker. While some may be put off by the links because of Depay’s Red Devils past, not least his struggles there, he is a different player now.
Capable of playing anywhere across a front-three, he would be an ideal man to add depth to Merseyside club’s squad, allowing Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino a breather from time to time.
The German tactician has been reluctant to sign new attackers, however, and the fact that the 25-year-old forward would likely want regular football is likely to work against him. He would get that at Tottenham, but not at Liverpool. Mauricio Pochettino ready to spend considerable money on the Dutch star during the summer transfer window.
